Terms of Service
Effective date: 26 June 2025
1. Acceptance of terms
By downloading The Community Pool app or using our website, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and resident at an enrolled address to create a full member account. Guests (non-PIN users) may browse limited features. By using the service you confirm you meet these requirements.
3. Your account
Your account is tied to your address PIN. Do not share your PIN with people outside your household. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe you have breached these terms, used the service fraudulently, or acted in a way harmful to other members or service providers.
4. Services and subscriptions
Subscriptions (Street Concierge, Private Chef, Hedges & Lawns) are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time before your next billing date with no penalty.
Service availability depends on the providers active on your road. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. If a provider is unavailable, we will notify you and, where applicable, pro-rate your subscription.
All prices shown are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
5. Payments and refunds
Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis.
If a service was not delivered due to our error, contact us within 7 days and we will issue a pro-rata refund. We do not offer refunds for services consumed.
A 50p card fee applies to one-off card payments (orders, pooling). No fee for cash on delivery.
6. Community pooling
Community pool orders are fulfilled only when the target number of households is reached before the deadline. If a pool does not reach its target, no charge is made and no goods are dispatched. By joining a pool you commit to purchasing your share if the target is met.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other members or service providers via chat.
- Post false, misleading, or defamatory content on the noticeboard.
- Attempt to access other members' accounts or data.
- Circumvent or reverse-engineer any part of the platform.
8. Service providers
Service providers (Marcus, Chef Priya, Dan, and others) are independent contractors, not employees of The Community Pool Ltd. We vet and onboard providers but are not liable for their individual acts or omissions beyond our own negligence.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Community Pool Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the service.
Our total liability to you in any 12-month period shall not exceed the total fees you paid to us in that period.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Intellectual property
All content, design, and software in The Community Pool app and website is owned by or licensed to The Community Pool Ltd. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of it without our written permission.
11. Changes to the service or terms
We may update these terms or the service. We will give at least 14 days' notice of material changes via the app or email. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
